Chimaev isn’t beating himself up for missing weight and being eliminated from the main event.

Chimaev is in a harder situation than he would have had if he had faced Diaz instead of Holland, who was a lot smaller favorite.

However, Chimaev is still the odds-on favorite to win against his latest opponent, and he is predicted to end the fight quickly against the 29-year-old American, just like he has done with four of his five UFC foes.

The one exception to this rule was his most recent bout, a unanimous decision win over Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Quest for Stability by a Trailblazer

Kevin Holland’s career as a renowned fighter is on the line, and he knows he needs a victory on Saturday to help steady the ship before he travels to Las Vegas.

Holland is a really gifted fighter with a lot of potential at this level, but he has been inconsistent as of late. He may fall out of the running if he suffers another defeat.

Holland enters the contest on a two-fight winning streak, but he knows he needs a third victory to go back to where he wants to be in the UFC.

After suffering defeat by points decision against Derek Brunson and Marvin Vettori, and then a no contest against Kyle Daukaus due to a headbutt, the fighter was understandably frustrated.

At UFC 272 in March, Kevin finally got back on track with a second-round TKO victory over Alex Oliveira. His most recent fight was in June at UFC on ESPN: Kattar vs. Emmett, when he submitted Tim Means in the second round.

Holland won a performance of the night bonus for each of those fights, but he’ll need to elevate his game if he wants to beat Chimaev.

The incident with Chimaev on Thursday may have given him some more motivation, but the obvious underdog still doesn’t have a chance.
